Information Collection and Use on our Site

EMSLongisland.com and it's parent Sidewalk Designs, Inc. is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. EMSLongisland.com collects information from our users at several different places and for different reasons on our Web site.

Registration

A user must completely fill out our registration form to be able to use sections or services of our website.  During registration a user is required to give contact information (such as name and email address). This information is used to contact the user.

Cookies

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer hard drive containing information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information. Once the user closes their browser, the cookie terminates. For instance, the user has the ability to opt not be required to type their password more than once, thereby allowing our site to "remember" the user when they return. This is accomplished with the use of a cookie. If the user rejects this cookie, they may still access the site, but the user will be limited in some areas of our site. For example, the user will not be able to participate in forums, email or messaging or even polls or contests as our system will not recognize the user as a member. Cookies can also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the user's experience on our site.

Some of our business partners use cookies on our site (for example, affiliates or advertisers). However, we have no access to or control over these cookies.

Log Files

We use IP addresses primarily for security purposes, but also to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Sharing

We will share aggregated demographic information with our partners and advertisers. This is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person. We use shipping companies and the U.S. Postal service to ship orders, a credit card processing company, and possibly others. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes. On occasion we partner with third party providers to provide specific services or features. When the user signs up for these services, we will share names, or other contact information that is necessary for the third party to provide these services. These parties may not use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of providing these services.

When users leave our web site they are encouraged to read the privacy statements the new site that they arrive at - especially if the site collects information from them. Surveys & Contests

From time-to-time we request information from users via surveys and/or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely opt in and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose information.

Supplementation of Information

 In order for this Web site to properly fulfill its obligation to our customers, it may be necessary to supplement our data with information provided by 3rd party resources. Users of our site are always notified when their information is being collected by us for any third party.

Announcements and Newsletters

We send all new members a welcome email to verify password and username. We use this to provide the user with relevant information regarding the site and it's operations, and also to provide service announcement updates. Members are not able to un-subscribe from service announcements, which contain important information about this service. We communicate with the user to provide requested services and in regards to issues relating to their account via email or by telephone. We periodically provide a newsletter to our members. If a user wishes to subscribe to any newsletter, they must provide contact information such as email address. 

Choice/Opt-out

We provide our members with opportunity to opt-out whenever we ask for information.  Users who no longer wish to receive our newsletter or promotional materials from our partners may opt out of receiving these communications by replying to unsubscribe in the subject line in the email or email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Correction/Updating Personal Information

If a user's personally identifiable information changes or no longer desires membership to our service, we will endeavor to provide a way to correct, update or remove that user's personal data provided to us. Notification of Changes

If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an email or posting and/on our home page.
